Padre Island is a narrow 110 mile long barrier island
that stretches along the Texas Gulf Coast from the Packery Channel at Corpus Christi to the Mexican border. Development is
limited to North Padre Island at Corpus Christi and South Padre Island near Port Isabel. Between these two developed areas
lies 80 miles of uninhabited island paradise where warm Gulf water meets white sand beaches. The turquoise surf and huge
dunes make the Padre Island National Seashore a photographers dream. Automobiles are allowed on most of the beaches of Padre
Island, so visitors can enjoy many miles of scenery. Nature lovers enjoy the Grasslands Nature Trail, a two-mile loop that
winds through dunes and grasslands near the beach HOME
